I'm not a big U2 fan. I love Greg Lake and this is my favorite Christmas song. Personalities aside, I have to say that I really like the this version.

It's a cover. If you don't like it, move on. I think Elvis Presley's is the only tolerable version of "Blue Christmas." I don't go around to every other version of it saying, "This is shite!" In fact, I don't go to them at all.

Good cover. Greg Lake approves. The Edge's interpretation of the brass section is really good. I wouldn't get too worked up about the rest. The song and video were recorded on the same day.

I really like this version. (So does Greg Lake by the way.) Edge's guitar is classic U2 while still capturing the subtle beauty of the original. Reverby electric instead of acoustic really works well.It doesn't happen often to do a cover, and make it your own, U2 pull it off here. Bono's vocals are in his distinct style as usual, he's U2's singer, not ELP's.@Billy Branch: not sure what a praiseworhter song is, but dude you gotta lighten up and just critique the song...
