His guitar was so good, and perfection as far as I am concerned. Especially in 'Beard of Stars' or the first 'T. Rex' album. It almost was like using guitar as a sound effect as well as an instrument. every song has a distinct, unique signature guitar sound, yet it is identifiable as Marc playing , hands down. I appreciate Clapton ,Van Halen and the like, yet they always sound the same somehow even though they might be playing a different song. Some guitarists are all finesse like a circus act !

I am 46 and I did hear some songs on the radio in the seventies, but in the U.S. it was very limited as I recall. Mostly 'Get it On', with a few others now and then like Telegram Sam, Metal Guru, Jeepster and maybe Cosmic Dancer. I just recently (10 years ago) discovered the depth and spirituality, and poetry of his music. I am glad to finally have found my musical guru !

Marc Bolan BLEW me away the vary first time i heard him 43 years ago. The track was Chariots Of Silk. There inlays fields poetry unsrpassed in my opnion in poular music. The album of cause was UNICORN. I still listen to Tyrannasaurus Rex today. What a great artiste this man was, he was UNIQUE.

You're so right. I wish People and in particular young people discover this man. He was so incredible, all those songs, in so little time. I can forget him since the year I knew his music, 1976.
