This movie was so perfectly cast, and they are lucky the others turned down the male lead, because Finney was pretty much perfect. And Hepburn was such a charming personality in every way. Mancini's theme music was icing on the cake.

I saw Two for the Road in re-release some years ago and didn't very much care to spend nearly two hours watching Albert Finney and Audrey Hepburn cruising around the French Riviera, but the theme music is a knock-out. No doubt Mancini's best work.

Youtube is a treasure-trove of memories from the silver screen and I often revisit an all but forgotten film of the late 60's I'll always treasure. The still present Albert Finney and the late Audrey Hepburn starred in "Two For The Road" in '67. The storyline and production was trendsetting and the score outstanding. I'm sure it can be seen on YouTube for free if you do a bit of navigation. For those thirty-five and up, it may be a glimpse at your baby-boomer parents. Seniors can bask in the glow of yesteryear.
