From the 1988 album Chill Factor and the song was written by Merle Haggard..

Twinkle, twinkle lucky star

Can you send me luck from where you are

Can you make a rainbow shine that far

Twinkle, twinkle lucky star.

Can you really make a wish come true

And do you shine on just a chosen few

Is it over, have I gone to far

Twinkle, twinkle lucky star

-

Like two ships on the ocean, we drifted apart

And you found an island at sea

I'm still adrift with this pain in my heart

Won't you send her sweet love back to me

Twinkle, twinkle lucky star

Twinkle, twinkle lucky star

Can you send me luck from where you are

Can you make a rainbow shine that far

Twinkle, twinkle lucky star

Many years ago you called me & sang this song, wanting to know how you sounded, if you had it down right. You were the crazy, wild one - we never knew what you were going to say. You loved life large and never met a stranger, always had a smile for everyone, and your own nicknames for everyone, mine was Tiger. I'd give anything to have you call me again and talk your crazy talk, to hear your laugh. You were my favorite big brother, always there. I miss you every day and am grateful your pain and suffering is over, you deserve your place in Heaven, you earned it a million times over. Ronald Edward Henson 1951 - 05-08-14

ACC's #43 song of the '88 survey year. Merle hit #1 in Billboard, 2-20-88. God bless you, Beryl, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a blessed rest of the week!

Do you think Romney or his $900 dollar tee shirt wife have listened to this? Get real.

This is the music that help working class and poor people together during the FDR days. Now anybody with a cowboy hat, and south of the Mason Dixon Line is a GOP, and then there is a California boy ( Haggard) that can think and remember during the depression the GOP listened to jazz and swing. Sad. Obama is a loser but the working class and working poor are not.

One of his best. I was amazed at him and how the other artists honored him at the Kennedy Center sitting with Obama's and Oprah. He actually supported Obama and said all that what is wrong with America is not Obamas fault. I am a die hard Democrat, who voted for Reagan, and it is good to see the music I love best supports intelligence and moderation, at least a minority of them, as the rest live in poverty hoping the GOP will change and give damn about them. Great song, I saw him in Vegas where I live.
