Proof that every era has it's highly packaged, formulaic, predictable, easily-pushed teeny pop. This is no more charming than the Disney assembly line of Bridgit Mendler, Hannah Montana, Hillary Duff, Selena Gomez, etc., etc. Fabian was the Justin Bieber of his day, except far less talented. I was exposed to Fabian by CBC's Vinyl Tap, and while I don't care much for his singing ability I was intrigued by the host's comment that Fabian had this grin that made the ladies scream, can't beat that charm, even if you can't sing for beans.

I like FABIAN but he couldn't sing to save his life - but, I hear he's a nice guy and don't forget, he did well at acting, even if he wasn't really a singer. You can take someone, give him tons of singing lessons, echo chambers, background singers, etc., but you can either sing or you can't - but that's how teen idols were manufactured back in the day.

Eighteen days later on March 30th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #9 and spent 13 weeks on the Top 100... At the time of this appearance on 'Bandstand' Fabian, aka Fabiano Anthony Forte, had celebrated his 16th birthday just 35 days earlier on February 6th... R.I.P. Mr. Clark {1929 -2012}...
