Oh boy, I actually like Trivium – seen them live on a few occasions and it has been a helluva lot of fun every time – and I thought: Well, if there's one band that can pull a great Metallica cover it has to be Trivium. But when I heard Matt's vocals on this recording the only thing I could think was: "Boy, that CAN'T be good for your vocal cords..." painful...

I thought they died in 1986 in a bus accident.....

I don't know. Bullet For My Valentine did a pretty good job covering Creeping Death. Sanitarium was a little mediocre. But they definitely can't hold their own against Trivium.

Trivium was a Metallica cover band for a long while.. who are actually endorsed by Metallica as "the only band who can probably play our songs better than us"

@brutalb83 ah, gotcha. sorry bro i must've misread the convo. my bad. and yeah i agree with you that most metallica songs are better sung than screamed. And about the "trivium covers arent the best" or whatever, i also agree. I am a huge fan of both bands. I've seen both bands twice, and have tix to see Trivium on their upcoming tour with AA (but seriously... AA??? fuck that shit...lol). Anyway, my apologies on the misunderstanding. peace.

@cfreckna And trust me, I'm well aware of Garage, Inc. and what goes on at Metallica concerts. If you had some sort of point here, I fail to see it. And I certainly don't mind if people cover Metallica. Trivium covers aren't really my favorites though; personally I feel like most Metallica songs are better off sung than screamed, but still, I'm not upset with Trivium for covering them. Covers are tributes after all...

@cfreckna Dude, what are you talking about? Where did I hate on Trivium for doing a cover? That ssisnake guy stated that "a lot" of Metallica's "huge hits" were covers, and that's simply not true. I was just trying to get him to admit that he was wrong. Your argument here does NOTHING to disprove me, so I don't know why you bothered. None of those tracks besides Turn the Page and Whiskey in the Jar ever got radio play time, and even then, they weren't "huge hits"...

@brutalb83 Die Die My Darling - Misfits (1981) Stone Cold Crazy - Queen (1974) Am I Evil? - Diamond Head (1979) Turn the Page - Bob Seger (recorded 1973) Whiskey In the Jar - Traditional, inspired by Thin Lizzy's version (1973) granted, these are not "huge hits", but Metallica performs at least 2 covers at virtually every show they play, so stop hating on Trivium for doing covers. Both bands are great man, and if you need more proof of Metallica doing covers, go buy Garage, Inc.!!!
