I was at this show, and a lot of their shows in the late 80s/early 90s. Best live band I've ever seen.

@fivetail- when you say "that song" do you mean this song? Or maybe Bonneville? =)

I had the privilege and pleasure to see Trip Shakespeare 5 or 6 times when they came through STL and there is no way that Matt Wilson was impaired by alcohol or drugs when he played. He had a twisted (in a good way) and manic personality and presence that enhanced the Trip Shakespeare experience and contrasted with the obscenely tight musicianship that was the entire band's signature. TS was ahead of its time and IMHO could have had a much greater indie success a few years later with the right marketing and exposure. There's really no other 80's band to even compare them to. Unfortunately, I think TS's primary audience consisted mostly of other musicians. I'm glad that Matt and bass man John have continued to play music, but I wish they would have had more success writing or producing. Both are gifted musicians and singers. It is amazing what Dan Wilson has accomplished.Anyone know what the drummer ended up doing post TS?

For everyone commenting that the singer here is "on" something...Matt Wilson would never ever do blow you jack-holes. Jesus. I almost married the guy about 7 years after this video. He was BORN with an altered state of consciousness aka Mensa level IQ. Maybe that's what you're detecting. Working up his sweat, being immersed in the decibel level of a stage full of monitors, those things are powerfully mind altering themselves. Signed, his ex GF, the one he wrote "that song" about.

Sometimes I just type fast and I don't think about proper grammar. As long as they can still perform I don't have a problem. But when I SAW Blur the lead singer couldn't perform. I paid for the show so that's a problem.

LOL how defensive can you get? You must really like drugs!

One might say that you were on drugs. you seem to be unaware of the concept of grammar. You didn't "seen" them you "saw" them. Wow. unreal. Someone with an 8th grade English level is jumping all over someone that may or may not have been "on" a drug. LMAO.

Who cares?

Agree but this isn't even close to how drugged out Damon Alburn from Blur was when i seen them live. He couldn't even perform. Worst show I seen in the 90's-Blur. Best show - The La's and Live. Seen the band Live in Providence before they were big. Was only like 20 people at Club Babyhead that night. They blew me away.
