I heard this on the radio one night, on the long drive home from Atlanta to Athens. I thought Genesis had gotten back together! I now know it's Collective Soul, but this particular song sounds like Phil Collins is singing it.

The window is open wide - let the spirit overwhelm the flesh and embrace who is in us is stronger then he who is in the world - we tremble when our faith is weak - we are both flesh and spirit - let the spirit overwhelm us and just ......trust, and move from this temporary state - God help us !

Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest? For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the Lord:but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word. Isaiah 66:1-2

Now therefore, what have I here, saith the Lord, that my people is taken away for nought? they that rule over them make them to howl, saith the Lord; and my name continually every day is blasphemed. Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I. Isaiah 5-6Hear the word of the Lord, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the Lord be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed. A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the Lord that rendereth recompence to his enemies. Isaiah 66:5-6Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city! She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the Lord; she drew not near to her God. Her princes within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they gnaw not the bones till the morrow. Her prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law. The just Lord is in the midst thereof; he will not do iniquity: every morning doth he bring his judgment to light, he faileth not; but the unjust knoweth no shame. Zeph 3:1-5

Isaiah 66:4-5 I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.Hear the word of the Lord, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the Lord be glorified:but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.

I would love to see them again. They were in our area a few years ago, touring with Live and Counting Crows. That was awesome too.

Me too! I went to see Cranberries in 00 and ended up becoming a CS fan. I saw them three weeks ago and they haven't lost a step.

This is so my kind of song! There are several great and under-rated songs by these guys. Such as: "Full Circle", "Why Part 2", "Compliment", and this song ("Tremble for My Beloved") ...just to name a few. Not to mention the more well known songs such as: "Listen" , "The world I Know" , "December" and "Run"... and who can forget "GEL". I never forgot any of them anyway. Exceptional band!... and I'm not even from Georgia...I'm from Alabama. If your an SEC fanatic, that say's A LOT!

Another awesome Georgia band...I've met Ed before and he is a stand-up guy, just like the rest of them.

Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest? For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the Lord: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word. He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog's neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine's blood;>>> he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations. I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not. Hear the word of the Lord, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the Lord be glorified: but he shall appear to YOUR JOY, and they shall be ashamed.!**Isaiah 66.1-5**!

I first heard Collective Soul when they opened for the Cranberries. Dosage was the album just released. I prefer them over the Cranberries any day.
