I listen to this recording over and over again. The beauty is in the simplicity. And Tony Williams does an amazing rendition!

I saw the NEW Platters. Sorry but they couldn't even get the background right. Not less the lead. The greatest singer ever! It was the Times. Music, Music, Music. A great time to be alive. Won't happen again, on this planet, this solar system, this Universe!

WOW I used to think I was offbeat for loving this poem. I, too memorized it at Baylake Pines, VA. Beach, VA.(1963). Kilmer also died a very herioc death fighting the Germans.

This is the one and only poem the nuns of St. Michael's Elementary School required us to memorize. And the word "bosom" is in this poem.

I recently heard from a Herb Reed interview that Tony Williams considered this to be his best song. I couldn't agree more! But then, I think ALL his songs are masterpieces!
