Track 10.

Lyrics:

Guitars ring in the dead of night, sing so blue, sound so right

It makes you homesick

Listen close to the guitar man, native son of a foreign land

The boy's homesick

He's homesick, for days bygone

Homesick, for home sweet home

Where were you in '69, smokin' dope, drinkin' wine

Just an outlaw

Distant drums beats an old refrain, shakes your feet, pounds your brain

Like a buzzsaw

In the darkness down the hall, black-light posters on the wall

Jimi Hendrix

Someone's lost in yesterday, hazy dreams of Monterey

And Woodstock, all right

He's homesick, for days bygone

Homesick, for home sweet home

Guitars ring in the dead of night, sing so blue, sound so right

It makes you homesick

Listen close to the guitar man, native son of a foreign land

The boy's homesick

He's homesick, for days bygone

Homesick, Lord, for home sweet home

The boy's homesick

Anyone else notice a resemblence between Travis Tritt and Manchester United's Juan Mata? Anyway, always loved this song. I never knew it was an old Atlanta Rhythm Section song. The old Woodstock and Rock references in this song remind me of one of Seattle's favourite sons BEFORE grunge came along. Jimi Hendrix.

Man oh man.... Used to totally rock to this song on the weekends and line dancing doin the Electric Slide ... Brings a smile to my face and a trip down memory lane every time I hear it... Sure do miss those days... Times were so much better fun....

Used to crank this one up in the pick-up on my way home from work. Windows down, wind blowing through my mullet. Pointed south with a 12 pack and throwing bottles out at the road signs at about 80 mph. Good times many many years back.......

Hate to have to say it, but it kind of blows the original Atlanta Rhythm Section version away. I wonder if any of those guys are playing on this?
