Playing Letterman back then was like playing in a garage. The sound was awful. No monitors. No time to set up even though the show is pre-recorded. No real sound check.

"don't neglect your studies?"...wow, for some wrinkled prune who tells canned jokes about celebrities every week in one breath, and star fucks them to their faces, he has some balls talking down to a young talented band trying to make a living out of being original...then again the sad statement about society is that Letterman is more successful than they will ever be and right about them not quiting their day jobs.

Trail of Dead is one of the best live bands I've ever seen. I thought this sounded pretty good, but you could tell that at times once they got loud they had no monitors. It wouldn't be the first time a talk show has fucked a band on stage.
