I first saw her in Concert right before she hit it big sometime in the early 80's. She ony had an underground following at that time but was slowly catching on. She performed in a small intimate Theatre that held no more than about 300.When I left the Theatre that night I was speechless and knew I had just witnessed something great.

The kind of special talent that hits you with urgency. I remember hearing this the first time and was blown away by the end of the first line she sings.

Ha-I live in Bothell, just outside Seattle. On the Carson I watched, she sang "crying". And I cryed through the whole song. I have never had a performance affect me like that. I wanted to wake up my boyfriend to hear it, but I could not leave the room--couldn't miss a second.

I've posted her very first Carson appearance. In it, Johnny mentioned that she was going to be playing in Seattle (where I live). I watched her with my grandma, who lived with me in those days. I said, "hey, she's playing Seattle. I think I'll go!" My grandmother asked me, "can I come with you?" So both of us saw the show. This was (I believe) '86 or so.
