The Vespers hymn for the feast of Pentecost, Veni Creator Spiritus, sung by a group of seminarians.

This Gregorian chant piece is the Latin version of "Come, Holy Ghost", a common Catholic hymn used at Confirmations.

The seminarians immerse themselves in the timeless Liturgy of the Catholic Church, chanting the Hours of the Divine Office in common, and attending the Holy Sacrifice of Mass (Tridentine rite) every day. Each day is well ordered: Mass, prayer, study, recreation, and work. All seminarians learn Gregorian chant, and make use of it every day. They chant the Hours of Prime, Sext, Vespers (Sunday only), and Compline. There are Sung Masses (Missa Cantata) on all 1st and 2nd class feasts, and there is a Solemn Requiem Mass every month. Many seminarians own a personal copy of the Liber Usualis.

Some of their best chant has been recorded, which gave birth to the "Chant Compendium" series of Gregorian chant CDs.

Blessed Pentecost to my faithful brethren!  Wonderfully sung version of the ancient hymn of the Anniversary of the Church and the Descent of the Holy Spirit unto all those baptized in Christ.

Always loved this chant.  When I was still a sweet Catholic school boy I sang in the choir and this was the first latin chant I learned.  I remember I was so excited to get home so I could chant it for my parents, both of whom were raised in the pre-Vatican 2 church.  I must admit, I made my mother cry.  haha

This was chanted by the carmelitan martyrs of Compiégne, during french revolution. May we all be inspired by their strenght and blessed by this beautiful chant!

You know, I figured that after I saw that this piece of chant was from there. I wouldn't be too sad about the lack of +Williamson though because while the priests formed under him were excellent, the priests exiting under Fr. LeRoux testify to the quality of their formation as well. God bless the SSPX, they are a light in the darkness. May the Holy Ghost guide and protect you in discerning your vocation.

I loved it when my dad sung this with the St. Charles Choir. One of my favorite Pentecostal hymns to be sure.

How lovely. Spiritual and inspiring for every Chirstian, Catholic or Protestant, Orthodox or Unitarian. And the photos are equally beautiful. How it fills the soul with joy. Thankyou for posting. friend.

This is one of my favourite Christian hymns ever. I read somewhere many years ago that the tune may once have been used by the Roman army as a march but that their words had been lost...
