I heard this song for the first time only a couple months ago. I was listening to spotify and it felt like I'd been struck by lightning. I was just sitting there at my computer, listening to Tracy sing, thinking in my head that there was no way I could be hearing these lyrics. This song is over 25 years old, and yet right now, right at this very second, i feel as though it was written with our current 2015 affairs in mind. This is such a powerful song. I am in complete awe of Tracy Chapman, and feel truly touched by this song. It terrifies and moves me. This video in particular, watching Tracy sing without any accompaniment, is incredibly powerful. She is a force.

Amazing voice and the songs are all very deep and pure emotion . I remember years ago i worked with a young lad who was a bit of a tearaway but a good kid , who when he wasn't at work would get in a bit of trouble . Anyway a tracy chapman song came on the radio at work fast car it was and he loved it , so i said why don't you get her album . He did just that and spent the next few weeks listening to it over and over again and didn't get in the usual weekend trouble , he thanked tracy for that !
