Greatest songwriter? Well, I don't think it is that easy. The saddest maybe. The most original and most creative one was Bert Jansch, I think. He's my favorite also, but that doesn't matter if we talk about "the best one". John Martyn and Tim Buckley have completely different approaches, more experimental, but they're great songwriters. We also have Bob Dylan to represent a more political approach to songwriting. So there is really no best songwriter.
