Woow, better than steely dans version. Funny I had no clue what the hell they were saying when i first heard this song. Then i looked it up.. Lol... Bodhisattva. Still doesn't make sense to me, shining your Japan and sparkling your China isn't a bodhisattva supposed to be a super spiritually enlightened person with no desire for worldly possessions or am I missing the metaphor? Fk it, its still an awesome song by steely dan and toto just kicked it in the ass too.!

Jeff Porcaro was in Steely Dan and before they were Toto, they played a lot of Steely Dan in their high school band, Donald and Walter even got to watch them play as youngins', so it's more of a memorial to Jeff and their beginnings.

This tour was in support of "Through The Looking Glass," an album of cover songs. The video is probably from late 2002 / early 2003. Me thinks they owed their record company something so they did this. Check out their version of "Watching The Detectives." Lukather does a great imitation of Elvis Costello who hated them! So they stuck it right up his ass!! LOL!!

Cardinal Rule of Playing Covers # 1 "Thou shall respect the composition !" He butchered the guitar solo. End of.

This is decent, but personally, Steely Dan's version kicks ass.

I was a fan of Toto, but this sound awful.

A very good version, but it can't top Steely Dan's live version in Santa Monica 1974 on the "Citizen" album.

I had no idea they played this and did such a kick-ass job doing it. And it's right after While my guitar gently weeps, which was also awesome.

Definitely one of the better covers out there that still respects the source material.

I wasn't talking writing skills, just playing covers and I still and always will think that Toto did it better, my opinion, tyvm.

It's a good cover. But if Toto was that great they would have written the song, not covered it. A lot of people can play music. Not many can write it well.
