First Wave of Black Metal is more of a mixed between Speed, Thrash, and "Black Metal" from the 80's. I quote "Black Metal", because later on the Norwegians would came and redefine black metal from what Venom meant it to be. First Wave of Black Metal has its own genre. You dont go up to someone and show him Welcome to Hell, Show No Mercy, or Melissa AND then show him albums from bands of Burzum, Emperor, Darkthrone, or Gorgoroth, do you?
