Did anyone else upon first hearing this connect it to Tori and Tash? Now all these years later, this version made me think of how she feels about Tash going away to school... And this song also makes me think deeply about my daughter and how fast time gets away from you.. One day a toddler running through flowers with ribbons in her hair.. then a little girl who goes to school.. I, like Tori, can have no more children and I really think there is an emotional suffering there.

BTW a variation of this particular improv was used as an intro to Jamaica Inn in her recent NPR concert which is on youtube professionally shot. It's a breathtaking version that really made me appreciate the song in a way i previously had not. I wish she'd do an itunes originals or something, with solo versions of songs from SW/TBK/ADP/AATS. My appreciation for her more recent songs grows with each passing year. She's a completely diff artist now & i've fallen in love with her all over again :-)

if you like how she changed the intro in such a good way, you should try listen to the live version of Liquid Diamonds from the official bootleg series in Manchester concert. The 1st 2 mins are amazing!
