Merkt niemand dat dit filmpje heel raar aan elkaar geplakt is? De bridge "In the village where I grew up..." vanaf 1:20 laat de beelden zien van de tweede bridge "In the islands where I grew up...." die rond 2:10 te zien is. Ook het gitaarspel van Peter White klopt op dat moment totaal niet met wat je hoort. Raar!

Al Stewart - On The BorderThe fishing boats go out across the evening water,Smuggling guns and arms across the Spanish borderThe wind whips up the waves so loud,The ghost moon sails among the clouds,And turns the rifles into silver,On the borderOn my wall, the colours of the maps are running>From Africa, the winds, they talk of changes comingThe torches flare up in the night,The hand that sets the farms alight,Has spread the word to those who're waitingOn the borderIn the village where I grew upNothing seems the sameStill you never see the change>From day to dayNo one notices the customs slip awayLate last night the rain was knocking on my window,I moved across the darkened room, and in the lamp-glow,I thought I saw down in the street,The spirit of the centuryTelling us that we're all standingOn the borderIn the islands where I grew up,Nothing seems the sameIt's just the patterns that remain,An empty shellBut there's a strangeness in the air you feel too wellThe fishing boats go out across the evening water,Smuggling guns and arms across the Spanish borderThe wind whips up the waves so loud,The ghost moon sails among the clouds,And turns the rifles into silver,On the border,On the border,On the border,On the border

Classic Rock

A happy birthday to ...Alastair Ian "Al" Stewart (1945) : is a Scottish singer-songwriter and folk-rock musician who rose to prominence as part of the British folk revival in the 1960s and 1970s. He developed a unique style of combining folk-rock songs with delicately woven tales of characters and events from history.Stewart is best known for his 1976 hit single "Year of the Cat", the title song from the platinum album of the same name. Though Year of the Cat and its 1978 platinum follow-up Time Passages brought Stewart his biggest worldwide commercial successes, earlier albums such as Past, Present and Future from 1973 are often seen as better examples of his intimate brand of historical folk-rock - a style to which he has returned in recent albums.Stewart was a key figure in British music and he appears throughout the musical folklore of the revivalist era. He played at the first-ever Glastonbury Festival in 1970, knew Yoko Ono before she met John Lennon, shared a London apartment with a young Paul Simon, and hosted at the Les Cousins folk club in London in the 1960s.Stewart has released sixteen studio and three live albums since his debut album Bedsitter Images in 1967, and continues to tour extensively in the US, Canada, Europe, and the UK. His latest release is Uncorked, which was released on his independent label, Wallaby Trails Recordings.Stewart has worked with Peter White, Alan Parsons, Jimmy Page, Richard Thompson, Rick Wakeman, Tori Amos, and Tim Renwick, and more recently has played with Dave Nachmanoff and former Wings lead-guitarist Laurence Juber.Have a great birthday Al !Al Stewart - On The Border From the album : The Year Of The Cat (1977)The perfect Indian summer song.
