Two things about this cover of my favorite Tool song really impress me.First, most seasoned professionals, even guys with decades of recording experience, can't perform all the instruments on a given recording. Sure, guys like Beck and Trent Reznor do it all the time, and there are others who can and do, but all in all they're very rare. In general, it takes huge amounts of both talent and dedication to pull it off alone. And to be fair, those longtime pros who can do it usually have massive budgets, in terms of dollars AND time, to support their efforts. You're doing it in a home studio. Further, shooting yourself playing everything for the video and editing it into this finished product brings the dedication aspect to an entirely new level.Second, let's face it. Maynard James Keenan is a tough singer to cover. He has one of those voices that makes it so pretty much no other singer could ever take his place if he were to leave Tool permanently. Here you certainly put plenty of your own spin on the vocals (it's not an easy song to sing, either way), but you do it very well, and an attentive and experienced ear can absolutely hear shades of Maynard coming through. Well done!
