This is a recording I made on Sunday, July 29, 2012. I drove 3 hrs to see Tony Sly for the final time, he died two days later. I didn't realize it would be the final time, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten so drunk and I would have paid more attention to how sloppily I was recording, but hey, if you're going to see TSly and the Caper you gotta have a few drinks!

He even dedicated International You Day to my wife and I for our anniversary (and also his friend who had just died)

RIP Tony Sly, you had a profound impact on my youth and even still, my adulthood.

Hopefully your friends and family can find comfort during this time.

I'll see you on the Outside!

Both these are harder to listen to since his death. Here I'm mourning lost friends with a bottle & Internet connection & I find myself mourning one I only met once a few days before this no less, but whom it feels like I've known since the first time I heard NUFAN back in the Stone Age when I could actually hold my liquor (albeit not legally). At nearly 35 I wonder if I'll be around for my 2 daughters and wife for whom I've often played International You Day.

Thanks, man. Tony's funeral was at this huge church in Downtown San Jose. It was standing room only. Testament to all the lives he touched. And Steve's memorial show was sold out. We raised a bunch for his family and everyone there had a great time remembering Steve and Tony. And thanks for uploading this vid. Hard to watch, but great to have it up for everyone to remember.

Hey dude I'm sorry for your loss, even tho I've only met Tony a few times, his music has made a direct impact on my life. I couldn't imagine how hard of a loss it musta been for you and everyone who knew him. I know it was hard on me.

I am finally able to watch this video all the way through. I knew Tony. And I was very good friends with the guy who took his own life, Steve Larkin. I was looking forward to seeing Tony at the memorial show as my band was also playing. Still missing both of them very, very much. July '12 was a shitty month for San Jose.

Thanks bro! I will take that in consideration. I feel pretty terrible about the quality :/ I probably wouldn't have uploaded it if he hadn't died.

Thank you for posting. RIP, what a sweet fucking guy. One suggestion though, monopole for your camera. Best $30 you can spend for recording a show.

How creepy he's talking about a funeral and memorial just days before his passing...

(1)Same feeling as MVarvais...I saw them in Montreal 2 weeks before his death. I'm glad in a way to have seeing him play one last time. Maybe we'll never know what really happened(even if they say that he passed in his sleep) and maybe it doesn't really matter(the cause) but more I watch this show and remember the one in Montreal..more I think that there was something ''wrong'' with him...a lot of things that he says are really, really dark throughout this show...:(
