"Girl Talk" is a charming song first heard in a quiet lounge scene in the 1965 film, "Harlow." I may get brickbats thrown at me, but I have always *loved* this tune. Let us all regain our senses of humor and simply be nice to each other.

This song and Wives and Lovers have to be two of the most sexist songs of the 1960s.

Sounds so good, but of course, you'd never hear a song like this today. Liberals take the fun out of absolutely everything in life.

I just love this era. When women were women, and men were after them.

After listening to the monotone bluesy noise that passes for pop singing in today's world, I couldn't help but notice how melodic Neal Hefti's "Girl Talk" really is. Even more, the note intervals in this melody are very difficult to sing, and Tony sings them perfectly in tune with nothing backing him up but bass and drums during the first chorus of this recording. There are lots of recording artists today who pass as singers, but Tony really is a singer's singer. I've heard him live many times as well as on recordings and he is an American treasure, not just because he's a star, but because he sings really well. Sinatra called him "The best in the business" and that was when Frank was also competing for record dollars. How many pop singers of today's generation will be able to sing a note when they're in their eighties?
