I have an album at home of Tompall's - signed 'Whatever they say about you, you're alright by me.' Back in those early 'Outlaw' days, and a family break up, nothing was certain. They survived, led to the birth of so-called Americana. It all might have been different. Where once were the Outlaws, Americana survives with EmmyLou and Rodney Crowell leading the way. Commercial Nashville has lost its soul. But they ran me out of town, 1975

Two of the finest true voices in the history of country music: Marty Robbins and Tompall. Who do you think sang the harmony on all those 'Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs'. Sharp businessman in a city of sharks, he was also my friend. Wonderful man. Talented family. None finer. His studio was a lifeline for Waylon and Willie when Nashville wanted 'em out.

The original, going all the way back, although Bobby Bare technically released his first. I like that shot of the 45 record. What would that fetch at an auction? lol

Two people actually gave this a "thumbs down". Really? I guess they never heard "country music" before "country music" was crap! Pity.

Pretty hard to beat TP and his bros. Could listen to their stuff forever and plan too. I like Bobby' Bare's version too but prefer this as #1.

I am convinced that Nashville wants to forget that the Glasers ever existed. I, and a few others, will NEVER let that happen. We are keeping this music alive forever with the help of the good people right here on YouTube. FYI Tompall , Chuck and Jim were lifetime members of the CMA, and yet were never asked to participate in any HOF activities. EVER! Unbelievable!

Love this Tompall verson. He can sing ANYTHING and make it his own. If he sang the phonebook I would listen and happily so.

I would like to lie down in grassy meadows under a big oak tree and listen to the Glasers all day long. If you would like to fan me and feed me grapes, that would be totally awsome!

With all due respect to Mr. Bobby Bare, this sounds better every time I listen to it.
