It's bubblegum music but I like it! My teen years' memories.

Is it my imagination, or is there a more commonly played version that's missing the call-response exchanges during the fade-out? Either way this version sounds great.

On this day in 1967 {April 23rd} "Mirage" by Tommy James and the Shondells entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart at position #69; and on June 11th it peaked at #10 {for 1 week} and also spent 10 weeks on the Top 100...Between 1966 and 1970 the group had nineteen Top 100 records, with seven making the Top 10 and two reaching #1; "Hanky Panky" {for 2 weeks in 1966} and "Crimson and Clover" {for 2 weeks in 1969}..."Crystal Blue Persuasion" just missed making #1; it peaked at #2 {for 3 weeks} in 1969 and the three weeks it was at #2, the #1 record for those 3 weeks was "In the Year 2525" by Zager and Evans...

This mono mix was the one heard on the radio and on the single in the spring of 1967.

This sounds OK to me! Sometimes as you know the album cuts can be different from the play single cut. This to me is the real thing :)

Some of the pressings didn't have the "call -and-answer" lyrics at the end. Most of the 45 singles included it with the exception of some pressed in Canada. NONE of the stereo versions had it.

Unfortunately, my 45's are boxed up in the back of my walk in closet somewhere. But I did buy it when it was new. I will let you know when I have time to look for it!

I can't answer that one. What is on the flipside of your copy?
