@ Tim Walker - Yeah, his songs are far from subtle so suggesting the material went over their heads must be facetious. As far as how old Tom survived his stint in the Army he did what anybody in any profession did. @Jim Foley- He didn't take himself too seriously and was able to find the humor in life regardless of the setting. Climb down off your pedestal. I retired Army, and am now finishing school...so far the environment more likely to 'brook no dissent' was the military. Were you being ironic or stupid?
