I like Tom a lot but this is not one of his best performance...the best Gentel on my Mind is Glen Campbell, Dean Martin and Elvis....Dean's version its fantastic too I was captivated by it.....thanks for posting.

Love all the version but its the Dean Martin version that is the most warm and melodic.

A good soulful version, of course, I can't speak on how good looking he is. I'm straight.

Its not about the tux, the chair, or how much emotion he is showing or not showing, its all about 'the voice'....and the man commands the listener's attention even when covering a tender, country inspired ballad such as this classic. He can sing...end of story.

@iampenguin1980 Disagree. He captures the emotion of the song perfectly. It is a melancholy, bittersweet ballad of a man who expresses his love for the only woman he loves and who understands him. Yet he leaves her repeatedly to pursue his nomadic life as a hobo. He is victim to his own wanderlust, yet through it all he thinks of her. Very sad song about a lonely, tormented man who cannot settle down. He should have sung the song in character, not in a tux in a fancy leather chair.
