Awesome!It must be such an awe-inspiring feeling to teach your own compositions to such a large ensemble of musicians and singers. Just the rehearsals must be fantastic. But to be on stage with them, up front and in control, with a crowd at your feet ... I can't imagine! I've played small gigs, but nothing on this scale. It must be great to be the solo artist and not have to pretend it's a democracy, and not have to frickin' argue with the damned bassist about the part you've composed for him to play, that you *need* him to play, so he agrees with you, but then goes back to his own unimaginative, root-and-fifth *improv*, thinking I won't notice the difference.It must be nice NOT having to deal with musicians who smirk and say "I don't read sheet music", as if that's some kind of *virtue!*It must be nice not to have a female in the band who can't control her vibrato, a woman who's "oohs" aren't as smooth and piercing as your own, and you're a baritone.Okay, I turned bitter in this comment. Sorry. This is a GREAT song, thanks for posting! Todd rules!

I am back! I listen to this song a lot. I must add that Todd Rundgren is a genuine talent. He sounds great live as well as recorded. Not every singer can pull this off. Somehow "live" is not anywhere close to the recording. Todd Rundgren has the talent and there is no doubt about that. I simply out and out love this song. A forever favorite. Thank you so much for this post.

Why this record and song didn't do better is beyond me. Seriously. What does Todd have to do when this is absolute perfection? Has top 40, if not better, written ALL over it! Even if you are not a Todd fan this is an awesome release that can appeal to all.

The whole Nearly Human project, both album and tour, was excellent and an example of just how professional Todd can be when he really puts his mind to it. Nearly Human is the best album he made since "Todd" way back in 1974 - yes, it really is THAT good - it is a very focused and professional example of his art.
