Is this song about serving a tour of duty in Vietnam? "One more day" akin to the sense of a soldier waiting for his tour to end?

Dear Goodmonster1988... I am so grateful for these posts... My CD's and MP3 player are usually out in the car and when I get a "Todd craving", I know I can always come here... :)

Your welcome...love both Booker T and Todd, two great bands indeed. I just wish both would get more recognition and acclaim

Hey! I hear what you're saying; and thanks for the lead. I went to the "My Sweet Potato" video and loved it. Also checked out the Booker T & The MG's cover of side two of "Abbey Road" and loved it. Anyway, good ear for hearing the kinship between what are now two of my favorite songs. It's rare that anyone can give 'utter desolation and despair' such a funky groove, but Todd does it here with "One More Day", yes? It's genius. Thanks again for the info you posted.

I reckon the arrangement, esp. the piano riff, is very similar to "My Sweet Potato" by Booker T & the MGs. Todd is a master song crafter who's always stayed true to his R&B/Philly roots..

Great upload! Thanks for posting. This is my favorite Todd Rundgren song out of so many great Todd Rundgren songs. I love the way he's got the keyboards tuned and the way he uses them to bounce the song along. I absolutely love the sense of undulating and endless heartbreak it creates. I get it that it's not 'funk', but it's such a funky groove for delivering such an expectantly 'hopeless' song, right? It's brilliant! "...too little to do, and too much time...no word."
