This is like having these two great artists sitting down on your porch and playing just like they want to. This version of Hank Williams "House of Gold" was recorded live as a benefit for the school their kids were going to. We get an album of GREAT music where the two push each other to the limits. This pre-dates bluegrass & is called Line Singing (thanks to John Tanner for the info). From their 2012 release, "Live - We're Usually A Lot Better Than This". Enjoy!

This is done in a style that pre-dates bluegrass called "Line Singing" still practiced in some mountain Primitive Baptist churches.

I believe this was originally recorded in Darrells living room for the "Real Time" cd. One of my all time Tim, Darrell, & Hank favorites. POWERFUL.

Yes! This is pretty straightforward and raw. I love this. You don't usually get to hear two singers singing like this. They produced the album themselves, so they didn't have to "fancy it up". Hope you are doing well. I'm a bit better. You can tell since I'm getting some vids made. I hope it keeps improving! My best to you, sweet lady, Moppet

You know me, Mr. Ed. I like it stripped bare. (blues, gospel, or Celtic) I love this album! Thanks for visiting and taking the time to comment. I'm back, almost. It looks like you are back. I'm glad to see you! My best to you dear sir, Moppet

Exactly! What in insightful comment. I knew I loved it for some reason. I would get to one of those little mountain churches on vacation when I was young. (At that time I thought it was "funny singing".I was used to an organ w/choir).I'd love to have a little church like that to go to today! They usually 'fancy' it up at the recording sessions. That's how they picked this name. Thanks for commenting. If you like primitive gospel or Southern Gospel type it in Search Channel on my page, Moppet '

It's like being in a little mountain church on a sunny Sunday morning.
