My mom used to sing the melody you hear in the beginning. Originally a Japanese lullaby.

does anyone know what that " what is your name" wheel is from, or anything like that?

I could make such a fucked up video that would be loved if I had the skills and budget, I like taking songs that are positive like this full of hope and love and making them into war and death which directly the opposite of the song's message. Yes. I know I'm a fucking jackass for thinking like this. I have a sadistic sense of humor sometimes. and it only gets more twisted when I'm bored.

I think your second point is a bit of a logical fallacy, as there's somewhat of a gap between people listening to 'Christian metal', and those creating it: the audience is free to take whatever meanings and messages they want from a work of art, whereas most acts of creation are done with a specific, personal meaning in mind. Still, I'll concede to the first part: the moment a band puts a single religious undertone in a song, all at once they're immediately branded as "Christian" forevermore.

I don't know that that is necessarily true. There are plenty of bands that write lyrics based on a wide variety of content, but it only seems that songs with religious undertones have become a sub-genre of a larger genre. I think it would be like saying that because I listen to a "Christian Metal" band, such as Oh, Sleeper, that I must be Christian. In truth, I listen to their music because it expresses emotion and conveys a meaning & message.

So is their Guitarist -teppei, people assume that he isn't just because he is asian

Well, that's true, but as the lyricist, he predominantly determines the subject matter of the songs, right? So if the rest of the band okays songs with religious overtones, doesn't that, in some ways, make them a religious - if not Christian - band?

no but seriously who cares

Dustin and Teppei are. I really don't care, if it gives them the strength to make this type of music, then that's awesome. Dustin seems to be a pretty open minded guy anyways.

I would define a Christian band as a band which seeks to influence faith, not one artistically inspired by faith.

Well, they certainly went in an extremely Christian direction in the last album. Beggars was also fairly religious. Older stuff, far more neutral.

Corinthians 3:15 - If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved--even though only as one escaping through the flames. At least use a non existant verse.
