Yeah, I've heard that that is why Varg did it, and indeed Satan as a character is obviously a facet of Judea-Christianity. However Satanism is often misunderstood, any Satanist with half a brain realise that it is more about self-deification and the fundamental individualist concepts attached to the Satan character. it pissed off a bunch of brain dead black metallers who thought that the inner circle movement was centred around Satanism by telling the truth about the movement for the resurrection of Paganism in Norway. The burning of churches that were built on PAGAN site ie. THOR and ODIN, not satan (who doesn't deserve to have his name capitalized).
