This Wheel's on Fire - Rod Stewart

A fine rare cover of the Bob Dylan and Rick Danko composition, taken into the British charts by Julie Driscoll, Brian Augur and The Trinity. Rod used to play with Brian's band, Steampacket.

The "Trinity" is a false doctrine forced on the church by a pagan sun worshipping Satanist named Constantine. The Devil sucks & he has deceived many a rock star. The Devil doesn't "own" any ones soul. You can repent before it is too late

I like the Driscoll/Augur version the best, I must admit. I heard them perform it a couple of times in London in the '60s. I must also admit that I don't really go for this Stewart version. He was great on some numbers but not on this one. We sometimes gigged with him in Bristol, earlier in the '60s, when he sang with Long John Baldry's band.

I put this rather raw version in my Dylan covers playlist with the versions by Auger, the Band and an alternate by the Byrds.
