Lyrics & Information

Until 2006 there was 5 tracks that had been hidden in the Lizzy vault that had never been released. Very early studio recordings of some of the later famous and best loved songs. But also 2 tracks 'Mama and Papa' and 'It's Really Worthwhile', that had been recorded but never released officially. Hope you enjoy! These were recorded in Dublin.

This one is my most favourite rendition of Saga because it's just so heartfelt and the piano is incredibly striking on this version.

Lyrics :-

Father and I

Waved goodbye

As we went to look

Uncle Peter was writing

A book

And his mama was starting

To cook

And she's ageing

We had come

In search of one

Who evades us all

Never heeds the call

If only someone could stall

This ageing

So I'll go

And hope and know

That my time is near

Laughing through

The years

Having only

Fear

Of ageing, Of ageing

Hey, I dont know if you still log in to this account, but thank you so much for these uploads. I got into Thin Lizzy a couple years ago now, and these are just amazing

Beautiful! Always loved the mellowed side of Lynott & Lizzy... Simply gorgeous, and very moving. Always impressed when young 'uns write so eloquently about ageing.

Phil is not an orphon, he has a mother and a father and is one of Gods very special.

j'en pleure, a ecouter ces paroles, ces lignes de guitares magnifiques, et de penser a Lynott ... merci a toi

i appreciate this as a huge Thin Lizzy fan and I like this one much more than the album version. I can't seem to find "It's Really Worthwhile". I don't know if I'm doing something wrong.

Always loved early Lizzy stuff, and always really loved this song. Never heard this version before though! Thanks for sharing.

Ah, ok! I didn't compare the versions. And yes, this one sounds stripped down compared to the version Thin Lizzy released. Thanks for sharing.

This one ain't unreleased. It was released on Thin Lizzy's first studio album recorded in 1971. Trust me, I got it right here tugged underneath my arm. If only someone could stall this ageing. Laughing through the years...

Thanks for the high praise soutltank. To be honest, I wouldn't have the motivation to do it if it wasn't for such fans as yourself and everyone else that listens. We all make a contribution to keeping this music alive. And thankyou.
