Lyrics & Information

This song is taken from Thin Lizzy's debut self titled album released in 1971. In my opinion their early albums had the best songs as they mixed folk, country blues and rock in an incredible fusion considering it was such an early time in stadium rock progression. Enjoy!

Lyrics :-

In the dismal darkness

I have sat and gazed, amazed

At the blazing factories

Like the lonely man

Who stands on the seashore

And I am afraid

As weary as I be

I try

I seem I see to look so gay

Run, boy run, in your skin

Look what the wind just blew in

Many lovely ladies

I have felt, touched

And I was not afraid

I took them out dancing

Out romancing

And I was not afraid

Then somewhere from the north

This gale I knew just flew in

And I am afraid

Run, run in your skin

Look what the wind just blew in

Run, run in your skin

Look what the wind just blew in

Run, you got to run in your skin

Look what the wind just blew in

Look what the wind just blew in

You got to look what the wind just blew in

You got to look what the wind just blew in

You'd have to miss Phil so much,,,,,,producing music like this at a time when Dickie Rock was all the rage in primitive Ireland. Phil was simply 20 years of his time

Excellent track. Some pretty unconventional but tremendously exciting bass and drums going on during the guitar solo. Watched them do this live several times. I still have the goosebumps!
