My 11th video in a series I'm working on for some of my favorite songs from the past.

Unfortunately this video has now become my little dedication to Lightning Medicine Cloud, the white buffalo calf that was slaughtered in Greenville, Texas at home on it's ranch, just days before it's 1st birthday. What twisted freak has visited such horror on this beautiful, mythical; and to many, sacred creature? It's such a crime against not only nature, but humanity as well, when you think of all the smiles and joyful hearts that once were in the future for generations of visitors to this mythical beast, but will now never come to pass. I remember when he was born, it was so cool and special and made me smile, now I don't even want to see pictures of him anymore because because it's now all just black.....thanks to whatever slug for ruining that particular little piece of happiness for us all. RIP Lightning Medicine Cloud.....you made it almost a year in this world little guy.....exactly the same amount of time that it didn't deserve you in the first place.

"Genocide (the Killing of the Buffalo)" was released in 1980 on Thin Lizzy's album Chinatown. I thought Chinatown, and the album they released right after in in 1981 Renegade, were both outstanding albums which were very underrated at the time they were released. This Lizzy is one of the very best, with so many songs to choose from, so it was tough to pick which one to do. Genocide (The Killing of the Buffalo) is here mainly because I like the narrative and the lyrics.

The video is very simple and is of course mostly images of the Native Americans and their buffalo....both of which were nearly wiped off the face of the earth by the advance of western "civilization".

I hope the video can relay some sense of the beauty, spiritualism, and tragedy of the north American native Indian tribes.
