So i thought NPR was all "Green" and shit.EVERY fucking morning on my commute to work, i hear this local ad for some campaign NPR has been running to "Donate your old used car to NPR and we'll recondition it and see that someone who needs it gets it".Yeah, we're talking bout OLD fucking vehicles here. Gas guzzling, black smoke belching, dino fucking beasts. The irony? The bumper music coming in and out of the commercial, and playing in the background the whole time, is THIS fucking song. Makes me fucking insane when i hear it.

No, I didn't forget that. Read the MIT study, it includes powerplant and transmission efficiency in the calculations.

anonbutt - you are forgetting that the efficiency rating for EV only applies to the EV itself. You also have to include the efficiency of power generation methodology to do a legitimate comparison. Not to mention the efficiency loss of distributing the energy miles from it's source of generation. There's a bit more to the equation.
