Just a few months before their album was recorded, TETO played The Music Machine in Los Angeles. Laura B, Jaicee Overton on Guitar (who recorded all the electric guitar parts on the original album recordings) and Bill Snyder on bass. FYI, when TETO went into the recording studio, Jaicee's friend Ric Olson (Berlin) came in and layed down the acoustic guitar parts on this song, Like a Drug. Although there are several other musicians listed on the cover of the TETO album, the fact is the original album recordings were made by Laura B. vocals, Donnie Nossov (Pat Benatar) bass, Mark Sheppard drums, and Jaicee Overton guitars and keys. Olson played acoustic on Like a Drug, Ophir Shur played on his song, Video Martyr, and Jerry Weber played on a song. These guys were relegated to the Special Thanks section. But, hey, it was before Milli Vanili!

Laura B was amazing. Her stage antics and her message of obsession addiction, partner abuse and veganism was like no other seen at the time.

Cool post. I had the CD back when it was first made. And I see in another post mention of Better Now which is just incredible as far as lyrics and the music. Thanks for a great post.

Agree with several commenters re: live > studio version. Her voice on the studio version is made all soft and cutesy; here, she's belting it out strongly. Oh, and the obligatory: Hi, Laura! (from your friend Dave in San Francisco, fellow former Mo Fo)

Her vocals are even more impressive in this live clip than on the album. She probably doesn't even need the mic considering how loudly she can belt it out

One of my favorite albums when I was in college. (89-92), Can't find it online anywhere the last time I looked. And until now, not on You Tube either. Loved the single, "Better Now" also. Wish there was a clip of that tune on here!

This song is fantastic. It's been a bitch finding this CD online so I'm gonna buy it and up it. I don't know how you feel about this but I want more people to know about They Eat Their Own.

Thank you Jaicee! Due to a mental illness called Profrakincrastination, I have been remiss in expressing my love, gratitude, and sincere apologies for not giving credit where credit is due. You rock! Love always, Laura B.
