Great song, but the Google Translator says that title means "ointment week" in Latin. Is it true?

Not overly fond of the power metal-y elements of the male vocals on this song, but otherwise this is glorious. 9/10

Instead of complaining about Therion borrowing The Phantom of the Opera theme, go and complain on Andrew Lloyd Webber about "borrowing" Pink Floyd's Echoes...and read a bit about music

Why is it every time any band plays a descending chromatic scale people say "Phantom of the Opera!" Lloyd Webber didn't invent the idea, in the same way the Jaws soundtrack isn't the only thing to use a minor second. Get some fucking musical perspective before you start spouting your grossly over-simplified musical correlations that you arrogantly think only you have noticed.

I dunno, I don't think it's that much like Phantom of the Opera-- if it went back up the scale after going down: that's PotO.

@Anetron1 I can see what you mean. But the similarity is greater between Unguentum Sabbati and The Phantom, than The Phantom and Echoes. Nice to know a lot of the music I like is connected.

Anetron1

@Nannirk, you could've heard it in Pink Floyd's Echoes. That's where Lloyd Webber borrowed his tune from.

@titandelapocalipsis That may be, but I've never heard it in any other piece of music. Naturally, I'll assume there's a reason.

@Nannirk I don't, as someone here said: "it's just a scale dude ¬¬"
