thenewno2 is a band originated from London and composed of Dhani Harrison and Oliver Hecks. Harrison plays lead guitar and synthesizer and sings lead vocals. Hecks plays drums and the synthesizer. Amanda Butterworth also contributes vocals. The name "thenewno2" is a reference to the 1960s British television show, The Prisoner. thenewno2 have been credited with album design for George Harrison's Brainwashed, Concert for George, The Dark Horse Years Box Set and menu design for Concert For Bangladesh DVD. When live the band consists of Dhani Harrison, Oliver Hecks, Jon Sadoff who plays keyboards and Guitar and sings background vocals, Jeremy Faccone who plays rhythm guitar, and Jason Hiller who plays bass guitar.

The band's website, designed by Hecks, features songs and a video entitled "Choose What You're Watching" (directed by Hecks), as well as the music video for "Another John Doe,"also directed and edited by Hecks, a movie made almost entirely out of stop motion technology, which was added to the site in 2008

A four-track promotional EP, EP001, was released on August 28, 2006. It features the tracks "Say", "Out of Mind", "Lord Lord" and "Truly". The EP was later distributed on several digital music outlets and is available at iTunes music store and CDbaby.

After three months, the band's song "People" appeared on their website on November 8, 2006 in which its original version was featured in the short film Now You Don't Know What To Think in 2002.

Thenewno2 were in the studio recording an album in the spring of 2007. The album was released later on in 2008, and was titled You Are Here. It was first released in iTunes U.K. but then released in iTunes U.S. on February 16, 2009. On March 31, 2008 thenewno2 released two singles on the iTunes store, "Another John Doe" and "Choose What You're Watching".

On June 3, 2008 thenewno2 performed at the NYLON + Myspace party in Los Angeles, California. The song "Yomp" was released as downloadable content for the music video game Rock Band on July 29, 2008.[3] and the song "Crazy Tuesday" was released as one of 20 free songs for Rock Band 2. On February 16, 2009 thenewno2 performed the song "Yomp" (track six on their latest album You Are Here)on the American television show Late Night with Conan O'Brien in New York City New York.

Their label is called HOT Records Ltd. and their songs are published by Harrisongs Ltd., a company founded by Dhani's father George Harrison.

@zcguitar Well, given how much his voice sounds like his father's, anything he sings is apt to make you think of the beatles at least a little. He of all people can be forgiven a little bit of beatles influence...not that it's a bad thing for anyone.
