Rohonyi's vocals are certainly praiseworthy. They are rough growls, but one can still understand the words thanks to his impeccable diction. Not a fan of Nell, to be honest. After just discovering this band, I love every other part of the group from the melancholic doomy guitars, the palpable atmosphere created by the synths, the authentic drums (that is to say, I am not a fan of their industrial period). But Nell Segland's vocals, I don't know. I just wish that she could make her vocals sound a bit less melodramatic and more intense. Before the die-hard feminists pounce, I'm not saying that it's because she is female; Electric Wizard and Made out of Babies are some of my favorite bands. I PERSONALLY (not objectively) would like this band more if they kept the deep atmosphere and feeling of gothic metal and relinquished its melodrama like bands such as Tiamat did on Wildhoney. But then THEY went and dramatized everything. Don't get me wrong. I love atmosphere and emotion. Modern metal annoys the crap out of me because it lacks in that area. I simply wish gothic metal bands would keep the somber atmosphere and clean vocals, but make the vocals more dynamic and aggressive without being melodramatic.
