How to accurately describe to another what it is you're hearing (when done right) and a way to understand the flow and development of music through time. If someone wants to find more of this knowing it has 2-step roots will help them. Better than "well its got some bass and drums and shit". Genres only become a problem once you start to compose in them.

In no way would this be classed as dub or dubstep, as they are different things. Just because it has a 2step beat doesnt make it dubstep, 2step garage came before dubstep. This is future garage.

yeah, dubstep is also bass music, so is garage, and funky, and grime, techno, house... saying it's bass music is like saying its general music. My entire music folder must be bass music, no categorization besides "bass."

Please put my mind in a box, tell me which folder to define this, tell me what it sounds like,, pastiche-step.. how to make money out of youngsters.

Well technically this is a dub, with 2step percussive patterns, So it is dubstep.. but i would call this a futuregarage track, because of its modern production sound, soft progressive synths and ambience, shuffled hats and bassline to keep the garage vibe, and the shuffly 2step garage percussive roots.

I guess it would be kind of like Chill-out electro or something in a way..I listen to a lot of music I don't know what it is, but I do know this for sure isn't dubstep :)
