1982 - The Who play the last concert of their It's Hard Tour at Toronto's Maple Leaf Gardens. The show was recorded and later released in 2006 as "Live from Toronto." The show was also aired live on cable TV and FM radio across the U.S. and Canada. An "ickle" one written by John Entwistle.#dapimusic #mymusichangout #britishrock #hardrock #thewho #toronto #onthisday #onthisdate

At 2:49, I heard something I never thought I would hear: the Ox made a mistake :)...just goes to show that even the best of us make mistakes, on occasion! I miss you, John! Thank you for all the great bass lines, Mr. Entwistle :)...RIP

the source is Toronto, simulcast in 1982 on television (forget what station, I think Global) definitely the audio was coming from CHUM FM (what it was cool)...I remember vividly, I was 15 years old

interesting thought on John's songwriting carrying the band for awhile...thing is, as good a writer as John was, his talent as a writer was not enough to carry a band like The Who...The Who were spent by 82'..including Pete's songwriting and overall vision to move the band into a new decade

John's songs are amazing no matter what year.

Definitely Pete's songwriting strengths were being poured into his solo albums rather than The Who. Given how strong John's 'Too Late the Hero' was perhaps he should have been allowed more of a contribution. The title track to that song would have been a great Who epic.

I always thought that this was the gem of "It's Hard," and still remember the show in Pontiac in '82 when they put John up, front and center, when they performed this. Easy to play armchair quarterback these days, but am I the only one who thought they should have let John's songwriting carry the band for awhile when Pete's head was elsewhere?

I'd rather hear this anyday than 'Boris' or 'My Wife.'

Good song, but I reckon this is one that would of worked a lot better with early 70's Who. Still good though.

Who else thinks John "The Ox" could've just sat down at the keys with his bass guitar still strapped on him, a la Rush's Geddy Lee?

I had the VHS video, but it was nowhere as clean as your copy. I thought you might have the Japan DVD or something else even better. Compare your vid to the other vids from this concert on the 'Tube' and yours is the best by far. I seen the Cleveland concert before this one and Pete was on fire that night also. I strongly think he is the most overlooked guitar player of all time. The lead solo in 'Eminance front' from this same concert is proff of that! Thanks for posting.
