I believe he actually says he likes how Meg Plays the drums like a child, the music all together is not meant to be childlike, although some of it can be very simple. The White Stripes is a legendary band, not childlike.

Meg's not a bad drummer, but not a extraordinarly good one either. But people, this is not Metal, you don't need a Jeoy Jordison in this band. Jack White had this vision of making remarkable, great music with pure simplicity. And that is just The White Stripes.
