There weren't a British pop trio, their weren't brothers and their real names weren't even Walker but for a short time the "brothers" Noel Scott Engel (aka Scott Walker), Gary Leeds (aka Gary Walker) and John Maus (aka John Walker) had enormous success that almost put them on the same level as The Beatles or The Rolling Stones in the UK. With their dramatic, orchestral and overblown pop songs they quickly captured the hearts of thousands of British teenage girls. But by the end of 60s the music of the band began to sound dated. The first British Invasion was over and The Walker Brothers officially disband only to return and reunite in 1976 for one last single hit: "No Regrets" (# 7 in UK Top 40).

When I'd hear this song on the radio in the 60's I'd think everything was right with the world, that there was hope, vision, and a better future. As a nation we struggled for rightness and justice, and we were doing the right thing. There will never be another time like that.
