I still own the orignal 7'' EP 45rpm record, still as pristene, as when I bought it in 1966. Scotts two tracks one side --Johns two on the other. I've always been impressed with this track in particular ( written by Scott ), wonderful voice with great backing and arranging--a little gem. The lyrics are outstanding, a comment on modern morals--even for the 60's--and must be unique among the avalanche of this periods sugary 'Pop', that poured out from the big record companies in those days. I'd buy 3 singles for £1 back then, and I still have them all.

My name happens to be Murphy and we were in touch with the Walker Brothers fan club at the time - Quite a lot of mail passed between us. My mother (Mrs Murphy) thought there could be some connection. Possible? She could dream . RIP mum - Hope you have come across John.

I'm not sure that's quite correct. I believe it is included as a bouns track on a later CD reissue of that album but it wasn't on the origina album at the time it was released. It isn't even a "Walker Brothers" song, it was a solo side project sort of thing by Scott which was originally, at the time of its release, on an EP called "Solo Scott Solo John" (or vice-versa maybe?) which included solo songs by Scott and John

At his peak i do not think anyone could get near this guy. Superb voice, clear and resonate he could just have about sung anything. The efforts of recent times should be dismissed. I don't know what statement he's trying to make about his music now - but this was the pinnacle. The ultimate in vocal perfection.

This is featured on the Portrait album. It's typical of what the Walkers were into at the time and of course sung to perfection by Scott.

Originally this was on EP "Solo John/Solo Scott" (1966). In any case, one of Walker Brother's finest songs.
