“Relationships – of all kinds – are like sand held in your hand.Held loosely, with an open hand, the sand remains where it is.The minute you close your hand and squeeze tightly to hold on,the sand trickles through your fingers. You may hold onto some of it, but most will be spilled.A relationship is like that.Held loosely, with respect and freedom for the other person,it is likely to remain intact. But hold too tightly, too possessively, andthe relationship slips away and is lost.”

Welll---I am back again so soon for the simple reason I was familiar with "Starry, Starry Night but not the singer. Now that I know I sure love his rendition of this particular tune. Be back!!!

Nat Cole had an aesthetic version and Billy Holiday a typically tragic recording but Nancy Wilson's emotive, reflective live preformance in c.1966 was sublime... P

Thank you so much for uploading, I love this version. I was listening to this back in the 90s and I've been searching for a copy since. Unfortunately, your upload was cut in the middle just where the orchestra begins to play the interlude and he reprises to the chorus and climax. Could you please upload the complete song, please, please, please? Thanx again.

This gorgeous song is actually one of the more difficult Romantic standards to perform properly (Nat King Cole is one of the very few who got it perfect). But other than the fact that Don is a trifle behind on the beat here he did a really marvelous job: so full of genuine emotion and warmth.
