Mick Hanly has what I consider to be one of the most sublime voices in the world, and here he is singing a beautiful old Irish folk song: The Verdant Braes Of Skreen. Some very tasteful accompaniment by Andy Irvine.

Vocals and guitar: Mick Hanly

Hurdy Gurdy: Andy Irvine

Yes, with Triona Ni Dhomnaill on harpsichord and Matt Molloy on flute. Andy did not perform on that album, but he did on Mick's 'As I Went Over Blackwater', where he played hurdy gurdy on 'The Guerriere and the Constitution'. With kind regards; Patrick.

This is the live version - the album contains a studio version, yes?

Hi 'jtpinnyc', :-)) I fully agree with you about Mick Hanly's sublime voice! This track, from his album 'A Kiss in the Morning Early' (1976), is one of many of his songs that I admire, along with Andy's very sensitive accompaniment on hurdy gurdy. Thank you very much for uploading it. With kind regards; Patrick.
