This is how you know that SRV was a great guitar player - he pushed players who already had strong A games to develop an A+ game. Whether it's his older brother, or Clapton, or whoever, he made them just that bit better by never holding back himself. The Vaughan Brothers would have owned the world if they'd toured together.

LOVE Stevie's tone.  Oh, he's playing my fave guitar, that's why! Man, Jimmie was on his game back then, playing every night I guess. I miss "that Jimmie"

Jimmy kickr ass too - but then how would he not, growing with the legendary SRV for an older brother ?

Never knew Jimmy had formed thew T-Birds while Stevie Ray was still around much less did i know that Jimmy was able to borrow the talents of his big brother to perform with his band- inagine that !

Funny you should say that considering that the string guage he used was so thick that 6th string on his Stratocaster was a first string from a bass guitar. Seriously though. Only Stevie Ray could make a Telecaster sound like himself on a Stratocaster. This is probably the only known clip of Stevie ever playing a Telecaster live. Anyway, it's like all the pro's have said all along. Stevie's tone really was 90% in his hands.

Its funny, it sounds like Stevie is playing a Strat. He could probably play a PRS and it would still sound like a Stratacaster.
