This is my 3rd fav song by The Hip, which recently became my fav band last year. Only On The Verge & my all time fav, At The Hundredth Maridian are songs I'd rather hear by The Hip

This song so rocks! Yes it does sound a bit like Stevie Nicks in the background vocal but don't think it is. Turn 'er up for sure!!

I credit my mom. She listened to a wide variety of music as well. Weekends cleaning the house, she'd be singing Queen, Foreigner, Pink Floyd, Rod Stewart (couldn't follow her there...) Meat Loaf, Johnny Cash, Boney M, ABBA, AC/DC, CCR, Billy Idol, Billy Joel, Air Supply, Moody Blues, ELO, Little Richard and a bunch of 50s standards, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, Anne Murray. I only listened to Wierd Al as a kid, but when I matured, I had a base to branch from.

Their self titled release is an EP, not a full album. EP's don't count as full albums, so Road Apples is their second studio album.

I was mistaken. Hats off to you sir, I wish I was that open minded to different genres of music

No. Their self released album in 87 is an EP, not a full album. Up To Here was their first studio album, so Road Apples was in fact their second album. Thanks for playing. Do some research before trying to call others on their stuff. Else you look a mite foolish.

Um, no. That's just the songs I listed, as they are songs most people would likely know. I mean, if I said "Dime Store Greaser and the Blond Mona Lisa" by Blue Rodeo, "Of Wolf and Man" by Metallica, "Wheat Kings" by Tragically Hip, "Electioneering" by Radiohead, etc, the chances people would know those songs is fairly slim. Beyond that, who the fuck cares?

The thing is, you listen to the popular songs of all those artists. What is really rare is to find someone who likes the deep cuts from all different genres. For example, I listen to a LOT of metal and hard rock (i.e I know the entire discography of pretty much every band I listen to) but I don't care much for other genres

Joe, I gotta say, I have one dream, that people can listen to whatever speaks to them without being looked down on, and isnt that what music is? something that sounds good to you, something that moves you? just cause someone listens to classic rock does not mean they can't listen to modern pop, we are not one trick ponies, and the days of thinking like that are gone man! There is a magic in music, whether it be rush, the hip, zeplin, doc walker, garth brooks or even minaj, music is life.
