Really good version but no one has mentioned that The Delmore Brothers composed and recorded this way back in 1933. This is clearly a Bluegrass number but people STILL debate if they can be classed as bluegrass but just look at how many of their original records have become Bluegrass standards.

Filled with talent all these bluegrass musicians but I especially love the sound comin from Tony's ole Martin guitar once the tool of Clarence White's fantastic pickin and he a descendent of the LeBlanc's in New Brunswick, Canada where bluegrass still thrives today !

Can't we jam the Al Jezerra frequency with bluegrass 24 hrs a day to de-program them from the religion of death.

Such a shame Tony can't sing anymore. He is the "stutter-step" to bluegrass guitar picking!

Interesting how Tony doesn't call out the state names of those not from below the Mason-Dixon line. For the record, Mark is from the great state of Washington and Jerry hails from right up the street in Warren, Ohio.

"DOC"

The more I watch & Listen to "THE" Tony Rice , "The" Mark O'Connor, and the one and only "THE" Jerry Douglas, the more I understand why so many people held and hold them in High Esteem. It is very special to me because it was way back when I learned the Banjo from Bobby Horton and flat-pickin' from Glenn Tolbert. I kept hearing about a teenager winning all these fiddle contests...her name was Allison Krauss. Thanks to YouTube I can enjoy hearing the very best. I bet Chet Atkins would be scratching his head, as he watched and heard Tony Rice playing and thinking, " How do you do all that and with just one pick...show me again...very slowly please". :-)

This tune right here from 1988 till now is one of the Number One Fan's Choice for Tony Rice to perform.

In all these years nobody has beaten the Delmore Brothers recording of this title from the 1930's.

Fluteristic

I always catch people by surprise when I point out there are no drummers orpercussionists in the core of this music genre. It's a testament to implied rhythm.
